Piaget was founded in 1874 in La Cote aux Fees in Switzerland. Originally a workshop on a family farm, the Piaget brand rose steadily through the years and expanded finally in 1945 to produce some of the world’s thinnest watches.
Piaget manufactures four collections of fine timepieces: the Piaget Altiplano, the Piaget Polo, the Piaget Tradition, and the Piaget Upstream.
We shall take an in depth look at two of these collections:
Piaget Altiplano
The Piaget Altiplano is an ultra thin fine Swiss timepiece that is available in either a round or square case. The Altiplano comes in white or rose gold. The dial is available with plain markers, roman or Arabic numerals.
The Altiplano is manufactured with either a black or white dial. The Altiplano is a mid sized watch.
The dial echoes the design of Piaget’s first ultra thin watches, featuring extremely pure baton-type hands.
Piaget upstream
Piaget is famous for their upstream watch. Upstream, against the current: the name perfectly fits this sporty, chic watch, born under the sign of courage.In a strikingly new gesture, the wristband opens in a very original way thanks to the deployant bezel system.
The style too is new: the strong, contemporary architecture of the watch case harmonizes well with the square motif of the wrist band.
 Perfecting the patented deployant bezel system took 800 hours of research and development; it subsequently underwent a series of tests, including 20, 000 sequential openings and closures, simulating 50 years of use.
